Welcome, Farewell and happy school days to Hunter and Amoni later this Month. You will be missed at Globalkids. Welcome back Rocklyn and welcome to our new children Abhay, Blake and Sarah and their whānau to the Globalkids family.

See attached Social Competence Policy, to inform you of our teaching strategies. We would love to hear from you regarding feedback, question or comments. Also together with the children, we all came up with some rules,.

Please be sure to send your child to preschool with warm, named clothing and spare clothes as we like to be able to go outside as much as possible during the winter months. Also check baskets for your child’s clothing that has been left behind as we have lots of socks, shoes and tops.

At the moment the children are very interested in music. We love to hear or have some of your family’s music that you enjoy, such as nursery rhymes special dances, songs or instruments.

For us to work towards our Gold Healthy Heart Award, there will be a few changes. These will be updated via a newsletter in lunchboxes. Globalkids is a peanuts nut, lollies (eg fruit strings), chocolate and drinks, such as juice and flavoured milk free zone.
Please could you bring in plastic bags, magazines and cardboard boxes if you have any free. we would greatly appreciate.

Be aware that it is extremely important that you drop off and pick up your child on time at their booked times, this is due to staff rostering to meet Ministry requirements, thanks. If your booked time doesn’t suit please see Debbie to have it changed.

Kind Regards Debbie, Gail, Vicki, Rachel, Bianka, and Sheida.

Newsletter August 2016 – Term 3

Kia Ora, Talofa Lava, Hola, Ni Hao, Mingalaba, Salam, Good day, Mālō e lelei, E kabo, Kumusta, Bonjour and Saludos!

Farewell and happy school days to Hana Shakyla and Lysandra. They all start school this term. You will be missed at Globalkids. Welcome Nova, Mila, Nena Riley C, Riley T, Alexander, Cairo, Hugo, Baani and Mamoe and their whānau to the Globalkids family.
We have an exciting opportunity for Globalkids. We have many languages spoken at our centre by staff and parents. As well as English and Maori we have Japanese, Kurdish, Hindi ….And now we have the amazing opportunity to add French. We have a group of French speaking families who will start attending on a Wednesday. We will have a French speaking teacher, Ellina who will support all children and teachers in speaking and understanding the French culture. We expect that our tamariki will be richer from these families attending as they are used to celebrating the language and culture of their friends and this will be one more culture that teaches them about the world.

As you are all aware, late last year we gained our healthy heart Rito award, we are now excited to continue our journey and aim to gain our Gold award, Pā-harakeke. This mean that there are going to be some changes to our food and physical activities policies. We hope to have everyone full support.
